Katie Parish Memorial Scholarship
We are able to gather together due to the funds in the Katie Parish Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship covers the majority of the fees for our retreats and other UMW-sponsored growth opportunities.
The scholarship is dedicated to our sister in Christ and fellow Unstoppable, who passed away unexpectedly in 2017. Katie Parish. She was a loving and kind person with a "millennial" sense of humor who loved playing trombone for the band, taking bizarre selfies, and looking forward to ski club every year. She enjoyed traveling, and was blessed to have the opportunity to visit many places in her short life, for mission trips in Zimbabwe and Fiji, as well as family vacations. She was a scuba diver, skier, musician, and good friend. Katie loved God and was a social justice warrior, especially for gender equality and LGBTQ rights. She wanted to make sure the church was a safe haven for all people to find and experience God's love.
